At CourseStack, we value your privacy and take measures to ensure your data is handled responsibly. Please review our policy below for details.

Payment Data

  • We use Stripe to securely process payment data. We never collect or store sensitive payment card or bank account information.
  • Stripe is also used to collect additional information about Course Creators to meet Know Your Customer (KYC) and other regulatory or tax requirements. We never store this information ourselves and rely on Stripe for verification and validation.

Creator Data

Course Content

  • Creators always own all the content they create and host on CourseStack, including any AI-generated content.
  • CourseStack will never resell your material without explicit prior permission.
  • CourseStack will never train or fine-tune generative AI models on your course data.
  • Course content includes but is not limited to: text, images, video, code, learning materials, interactive systems, coding challenges, and other content hosted on CourseStack.

Course Metadata

We collect metadata provided by creators to describe and categorize course content. This includes:

  • Course author data: name or username, email, and optional profile picture.
  • Course title, description, industry categorization, and other descriptive metadata.

Course Creator Personal Data

We collect the minimum amount of personal data required to allow use of our services. This includes:

  • Email address.
  • Name or username.

Student Data

Course-Related Data

We collect data and track student activity within their enrolled courses. This helps us provide feedback to students and course creators on student performance.

We will never share individual, non-anonymized student course data with anyone except the student and the course creator (or course creator organization, if applicable). Aggregated, anonymous statistics may be shared to provide insights on overall performance across all students and courses.

Examples of course-related student data we collect include but are not limited to:

  • Course content activity, such as lesson page views and completions.
  • Question attempts and outcomes.
  • Quiz page views, outcomes, and retries.
  • Interactive system activity, including actions taken by the student in virtual machines or other interactive systems provided as part of the course.
  • System launches, starts, stops, and resets.

Student Personal Data

We collect the minimum amount of personal data required to allow use of our services. This includes:

  • Email address.
  • Name or username.
